Torre de Canyamel International Piano Festival Celebrates Its Eleventh Edition
The prestigious event will take place from August 31 to September 4 and will bring together renowned pianists from the United Kingdom, Italy, Croatia, and Russia.
The historic Torre de Canyamel building will once again host the prestigious International Piano Festival, now in its eleventh year. This event, firmly established as a reference point on Mallorca’s musical scene, will offer four exceptional concerts in an incomparable setting—the 13th-century defensive tower—on August 31, September 1, 3, and 4, at 8:30 p.m.
The festival will open on August 31 with the celebrated British pianist Murray McLachlan, who will present a program titled Fantasies and Anniversaries, featuring works by J.S. Bach, Satie, Ravel, Busoni, and Stevenson. On September 1, Italian-American pianist Giulia Contaldo will perform Myths, Legends, and Tales, including pieces by Debussy, Liszt, Gluck, Szymanowski, and Liszt.
On September 3, rising Croatian pianist Irena Radić will take the stage with Between the Tangible and the Dreamed, featuring works by Rachmaninov, Debussy, Medtner, and Chopin. Finally, on September 4, Russian pianist Denis Burstein will close the festival with Lyrical Miniatures: From Folk to Dream, offering works by Grieg, Rachmaninov, Scriabin, and Medtner.
Music is one of the main pillars of the Torre de Canyamel’s cultural programming. Alongside Joan Costa’s exhibition You Never Know and the Arrels Festival, the 11th International Piano Festival Torre de Canyamel is now a must-attend event for music lovers. Under the artistic direction of Óscar Caravaca—one of Mallorca’s most prominent pianists with a strong international presence—the festival offers a unique opportunity to enjoy musical excellence in a historic and beautiful setting, bringing together world-class pianists from around the globe.
For more than a decade, the Festival has stood out for its commitment to supporting the careers of over forty young international performers who have taken part in the project.
Tickets for each concert are priced at €30, with a special pass for all four concerts available for the reduced price of €95. The festival takes place at the Torre de Canyamel, located at Km 5.5 on the Artà–Canyamel road (Capdepera). Tickets can be purchased through the Ticket IB platform (https://eventos.torredecanyamel.com/es/) or in person at Torre de Canyamel itself and at the Tourist Information Offices in Capdepera and Cala Rajada.
