Valeria Castro opens the Arrels Cycle on July 4
The historic Torre de Canyamel building launches its 2026 cultural season with a concert by Canary Islands singer-songwriter Valeria Castro on July 4 at 9:00 p.m. This is the first of three concerts scheduled as part of the Arrels Cycle, an intimate music series distinguished by its charitable nature and by taking place in a unique setting of great historical value: the 13th-century medieval tower.
On July 9, it will be the turn of renowned Cuban jazz musician and composer, as well as virtuoso clarinetist and saxophonist, Paquito D’Rivera, accompanied by musicians Pepe Rivero and Sebastián Laverde. Winner of 18 Grammy Awards, D’Rivera has performed alongside Bebo and Chucho Valdés, Dizzy Gillespie, and Arturo Sandoval, among others.
The series will conclude on August 22 with a performance by Lina Rodrigues, a Portuguese singer associated with fado, recognized for her emotional and respectful interpretation of the tradition while remaining open to contemporary sensibilities. Trained in Portugal’s musical sphere, she has developed her career on local stages and cultural circuits, establishing herself as an emerging voice in the fado scene.

The Arrels Cycle, celebrating its second edition this year, continues the legacy of the summer concerts organized for more than twenty years by Grupo Torre de Canyamel in support of the charitable work of the Friends of Tilloli Association in India, promoting the education of girls in vulnerable situations.
Jaume Roig Exhibition and 12th Piano Festival
The 2026 cultural program at Torre de Canyamel is complemented by a new exhibition project by the renowned Mallorcan ceramic artist, sculptor, and painter Jaume Roig (Palma, 1981). From his studio in Campos, Roig has made his mark both locally and internationally, collaborating with contemporary art spaces such as Miquel Alzueta Gallery in Barcelona and Les Ateliers Coubert in New York, among others.
The third cultural highlight of the season is the 12th edition of the Torre de Canyamel International Piano Festival, which will take place from July 20 to 24 and feature four recitals performed by a new generation of musicians already recognized on the international circuit. This year, Marvin Beli (Albania), Elizaveta Velikhova (Russia), Callum McLachlan (United Kingdom), and Maiqi “Maggie” Wu (China) will offer four exceptional concerts in an incomparable setting.
